Breast Health Matters: Supporting Eastern Health Foundation This October

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Eastland is proud to support Eastern Health Foundation– raising funds and helping women in our community understand the importance of breast awareness and early detection.

Supporting the women in our community

Every day, Eastland welcomes women from across Melbourne’s East – mums, daughters, sisters, partners, friends, colleagues and carers.

This October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re proud to stand alongside these women and support Eastern Health in raising awareness of breast health and the importance of early detection.

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among females in Australia, with 1 in 7 women expected to be diagnosed in their lifetime. While diagnoses have increased over time, survival rates have also improved – highlighting just how important awareness, screening and advances in care can be.

Know your normal

Eastern Health Breast & Cancer Centre Nurse Manager Jessica's message is simple: “Know your normal – Early detection gives you the best chance.”

Getting to know what is normal for your breasts can help you recognise when something changes. Eastern Health encourages regular self-checks and recommends speaking to your GP if you notice anything new or unusual.

Check monthly • Screen regularly • Act on changes.
