Ingredients
Ingredients
- sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 20-24 slices of pepperoni or ham
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (optional)
- 1 beaten egg (for egg wash)

Method
1
Preheat your oven to 200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2
Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut the puff pastry into 5-6 strips, each about 5 cm (2 inches) wide.
3
Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over each strip of puff pastry. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the sauce. Lay the slices of pepperoni or ham along the top edge of each strip, slightly overlapping and allowing half of each slice to stick out above the pastry. If using, sprinkle dried Italian herbs over the top.
4
Carefully roll up each strip from one end to the other, keeping the pepperoni or ham on top. Pinch the end of the pastry strip to seal it and place the rolled roses on the prepared baking sheet.
5
Brush the tops of the pastry roses with the beaten egg to give them a golden-brown finish.
6
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed up and golden brown.
7
Allow the pizza roses to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm!
