Hungry 4 Success Café and Catering

Hungry 4 Success Cafe and Catering is not your typical suburban coffee spot; it’s social enterprise cafe improving the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of the community – as well as serving great coffee and snacks.

Nestled in a stylish space on level 1, it is the culmination of six-year partnership between Eastland and Glen Park Community Centre, which has seen more than 150 people gain the skills and confidence they need to break the cycle of unemployment through the Hungry 4 Success training program.

The cafe is a certified Social Trader and is operated by Glen Park Community Centre. With the help of Eastland, the café provides a hands-on training space and pathway to employment for trainees and employees who have experienced various forms of disadvantage, including disabilities, mental health issues, long-term unemployment, and social isolation.

Crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients, home-cooked comforts make up the theme of the Hungry 4 Success menu, and what tastes better than knowing you are helping someone with every purchase you make?

With revenue from the cafe being directed back into Glen Park Community Centre’s employment, education, community and emergency relief programs, this cafe has a special place in the community.

The cafe is decked out with comfy furniture and equipment that has been repurposed to create a cozy dining spot with an altruistic vibe. There are games and puzzles for kids and a menu with something for everyone, including coffee, tea, hot chocolate and milkshakes, plus a selection of savory and sweet snacks and treats, all made daily at Glen Park Community Centre’s commercial kitchen in Bayswater North. The Cake of the Week is a must for any visitor.
