NAIDOC Week celebrates and recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
‘Echoes of our Songlines’ artwork by Nathaniel Chapman, Proud Goenpul/ Yagera Man of North Stradbroke Island/Brisbane City, speaks to the enduring strength and continuity of Yagera culture, shared, heard, and lived on the lands now known as Brisbane.
These echoes come to life through meaningful cultural experiences, where traditions are passed from generation to generation and celebrated collectively.
In context of NAIDOC Week 2026, marking 50 Years of honouring and elevating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, this work reflects the resilience, pride and cultural legacy that continues to thrive today. It acknowledges decades of storytelling, knowledge-sharing and advocacy that have ensured culture not only endures, but grows stronger.
Through ongoing understanding, respect and connection, the spirit of our songlines continues to resonate, carrying forward the voices, histories and living cultures of First Nations peoples.’
