Summerween
Summerween started in America with people who loved Halloween so much, they decided to celebrate it twice, a little like Christmas in July. For Aussies, it makes perfect sense. Think pool parties with floaties from, Surf Dive 'n Ski, lightweight costumes from Target, more pink than orange decorations from Lo Costa House & Party and watermelons carved instead of pumpkins.
If you’re looking for a playful way to bring Halloween to life while it’s still light out, Summerween is the way to go, bright, bold, and uniquely ours.
Couple Dressing
Halloween is better when you dress in pairs. And it’s not just romantic couples anymore, besties, siblings, and even parent–child duos are getting in on the fun. This year, we’re expecting to see everything from Ted & John, the Colonel and his chicken, to Remy & Linguini. For off the shelf suggestions we recommend visiting Zing Pop Culture, Best & Less and Lowes.
DIY costumes will be big too. Last year’s viral plug-and-socket moment had everyone laughing and we can’t wait to see what unexpected duos turn up this year.
Costume Ideas 2025
The days of only scary costumes are gone this year, it’s all about looks that are cool, creative, and made to be remembered.
We’re expecting:
- Polly Pocket fits as the 80s make a comeback.
- Demon Hunters after the success of Netflix’s fantasy hit.
- Showgirls, inspired by Taylor’s newly announced album.
- Racing looks, thanks to the hype around Brad Pitt’s new F1 film.
Costumes aren’t just about dressing up anymore they’re about capturing a vibe, a reference, or a cultural moment. Take a look at Dotti, Home Variety, Lovisa and Rebel Sport for inspo.
Halloween Snacks
Halloween food is getting just as creative as the costumes. Think finger hotdogs, ghost strawberries, mummy-wrapped bananas, and even edible band-aids made from vanilla wafers and red icing.
And it doesn’t stop at kids’ parties, the grown-ups are having fun too. Blackberry margaritas, pumpkin spice espresso martinis, and blood-red sangria jugs are making their way onto Halloween tables. It’s all about food (and drinks) that look just as fun as they taste. Make yourself a shopping list and head to Coles, Nature's Green Farm and Liquorland.

Halloween Pets
This year, no one’s being left out not even the four-legged family members. From pumpkin dog suits from Big W and witchy capes to bat wings, spider harnesses, and skeleton jumpers from Kmart, pets are becoming the stars of the Halloween photo moment. Add in pumpkin chew toys from Daiso and black-and-orange treats, and its basically Christmas for them just with cobwebs.
Halloween Glam
Finally, Halloween isn’t complete without a little glam. Nails are leading the way from ghost jelly tips and spiderweb designs at The Reject Shop to bold blacks, oranges, and sparkles. Pair that with Smokey eye makeup from Sephora, glitter palettes, and statement lashes from MAC Cosmetics and you’ve got a transformation that feels fresh, fast, and party-ready.
This year, Go Big!
Halloween ’25 isn’t just another celebration it’s a Friday-night Halloween. That means more time, more energy, and more excuses to make it bigger than ever. From watermelons to winged eyeliner, pups in pumpkins to perfectly paired duos, this year is about doing Halloween your way but making it Go Big.
However you’re celebrating, you’ll find everything you need to make it a success at Eastland.
